 The History of Valentine’s Day: Its Origins, Traditions, and Customs

           Each year, February 14th marks Valentine's Day, a worldwide day of love and admiration33. Although this holiday is generally celebrated by exchanging cards and gifts, the true meaning of the holiday is recognizing the loving relationships that unite people from many different cultures.[3] Valentine's Day is a day for lovers, and to thoroughly understand it, we must first trace the convoluted history behind this sweetheart day, including its true meaning, as well as the various ways in which people express love3.

          Valentine's Day has complex and somewhat obscure origins, most of which is just an academic discussion of various theories about its genesis[1]. One theory links it to the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia, a pagan rest that took place in mid-February3. This festival to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, involved rituals aimed at fecundation, purification of the land, and dismissal of evil spirits3. Lupercalia did not have ties to love in the way that we practice it today, but the dates are close to each other, prompting some to speculate that the tradition prompted Valentine's Day to evolve at all[3].

          The other interesting part of the history of love on 4th February is the story of Saint Valentine, a Christian martyr3. Some of these legends make the case that he challenged Emperor Claudius II's ban against marriages (to keep men in the field and free from their wives)4. That Valentine married couples in secret, for which he was imprisoned4. Another story follows he became friends with his jailer's daughter and wrote her a note signed "from your Valentine" before he was executed[4]. Whatever the case, over time St. Valentine became associated with love and romance, helping establish the holiday’s identity4.

           The 1500s saw formal declarations of love in the form of “valentines,” with “commercial” printed cards first being used in the late 1700s[1]. The mass production of Valentine's Day cards in the 19th century, particularly through the work of Esther Howland in the United States, helped to popularize the holiday immensely[1]. These cards typically had romantic poems and elements like hearts and cupids[1].

           Valentine’s Day is all about expressing feelings for each other which come in several forms depending on how lovers relate to each other[3]. However, traditional gifts—candy and flowers, especially red roses, which represent love and beauty—are still some of the most popular; however, the most meaningful expressions often come in the way of personalized gestures1. Such as acts of service, quality time, words of affirmation, thoughtful gifts, and physical touch, each of which have special meaning to the recipient[3].

         A Final Note: February 14 is a little of each — an amalgamation of historical, cultural and personal expressions of affection3. Ending with its likely origins from ancient Roman celebrations, the legends of St. Valentine, card commercialization and the global recognition of love and connection that we know today in the form of collective love and appreciation1[2] Armed with this knowledge of Valentines' complex history, and an understanding of the diverse ways of expressing love, we can rise above the commercialisation of the occasion and learn to forge deeper and more meaningful connections with the people we love.

Navigating Challenges and Growth: My Third Quarter Reflection

"From Codes to Confidence: Lessons Learned in the Third Quarter"

          I am currently ending third quarter and reflecting on my biggest learning experiences, challenges, and opportunity to overcome obstacles. This quarter has taught me a lot in terms of research and building a website, forcing me to step out of my comfort zone.

What I Have Learned/Discoveries I’ve Made? 

          This quarter, working on our Community-Based Research (CBR) and creating websites has been one of the greatest learning experiences. With this, too I learned new coding practices, how to properly formulate web pages, and how to write lists. I loved to see how various codes work side by side the different features of a website; I saw a new perspective into web development.

At What Points the Problems/Challenges Hovered Over Me? 

          While these are things we learned, it wasn’t an easy process. I had a hard time memorizing codes, and there were time errors while building the website, which needed some patience and debugging. Since we were also trying to do interviews for our CBR it was quite daunting. Because the rest of my group and I were naturally hesitant to talk to strangers, reaching out for interviews felt like a daunting task. To further complicate matters, we stuffed the CBR as well, which added to the stress of it all.

How Did I Resolved These Challenges? 

          To deal with these struggles, I decided to practice and practice until I got the hang of writing code. When errors popped up, I didn't get frustrated, I just made the time to debug and troubleshoot. To make things easier for the interviews, my groupmates and I divided tasks. And so we wrote scripts and questions ahead of time to feel more confident about talking to people. We also had to organize like never before and think on our feet.

Moving On, I Will…

          Now that we are in the last quarter, I will be working on my time management skills so that I do not have to cram on important projects. I will also continue practice website development in order to accelerate skill parts and become more acquainted with it. Key Post to work on — Confidence Communication is very important because interviews & interactions are part of future projects.

          While this whole quarter may have been hard on all of us, it has taught me things such as resilience, problem-solving, and the importance of teamwork. These experiences will definitely contribute to my academic and personal growth in the future.

Why Filipinos Embrace the Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year 2025: A Celebration Bridging Cultures

          The year of the Wood Snake (Chinese New Year 2025) is celebrated on 29 January 1. The festival is also referred to as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival1. The festivities are rounded off with the Lantern Festival on 12 February[5]. The public holiday in China spans January 28th–February 3rd[5].

          Some of the traditions associated with the celebration include dragon and lion dances, giving of ang pao (red envelopes), preparing lucky foods, and decorating in red and gold[1]. Firecrackers and fireworks are lit to scare away evil spirits[1]. Many go to temples and shrines to pray for blessings[1]. Many also follow Feng Shui practices[1].

           In the Philippines, Chinese New Year is a unique non-working holiday[3]. With its diverse multicultural heritage and the cultural influence of China, Chinese New Year is also observed in the Philippines1. The Chinese or Lunar New Year celebration has been in the Philippines for hundreds of years[2]. Without question, Chinese culture is ingrained in Filipino culture and life[2]. Filipinos celebrate by sharing greetings, feasting on Chinese food and consulting Feng Shui experts[3]. They will also give ang pao and eat tikoy[2].

New Year, New Goals

 

"2025: A Year of Growth, Balance, and Achieving My Goals"

         As 2025 begins, I want to focus more on my studies. I’ve had fun and enjoyed life, but now I need to take my education more seriously. I’m ready to challenge myself and stay on top of my work this year. At the same time, I want to make sure I still find time to relax and enjoy myself. It’s all about keeping that balance between hard work and fun.

         This year, I’m also determined to buy the things I’ve always wanted. But instead of just buying them on a whim, I want to earn them. I believe working hard to get what I want will make it even more rewarding. I’m excited about the idea of earning those things and making my goals a reality. It will feel great to achieve them through my own effort.

         Taking care of my mental health is also a top priority. I want to feel truly happy and at peace with myself. I know that by focusing on my well-being and learning how to relax, I can be more content. Stress can easily take over, but I want to let go of that and embrace a positive mindset. Creating a calm mental space will help me handle challenges better.

         Along with my mental health, I want to focus on being healthier physically. I want to feel strong, energized, and take better care of my body. This means exercising regularly, eating healthy, and giving my body the attention it needs. I know that if I do this, I’ll feel better overall and have more energy. Staying healthy will help me feel more confident and ready for anything.

         Finally, I want to do better in school this year. I’m aiming for good grades and pushing myself to improve. It’s not just about being perfect, but about working hard and doing my best. I know that if I stay focused and put in the effort, I can achieve my academic goals. This year is all about setting high expectations for myself and striving to meet them.

A Christmas Filled with Love and Laughter

 

"Celebrating the Holidays with Family, Fun, and Fond Memories"

          Our Christmas vacation was filled with nothing but happiness. My grandfather flew in from Davao City to Vigan just to spend the holidays with us. The start of the Christmas break wasn’t exactly exciting at first, as I didn’t book a flight to go anywhere, unlike others who were traveling. But then I thought, why not spend this time with my family? So that’s what we did. On December 20th, we traveled to Ilocos Norte for some shopping and just to have fun together.

         On Christmas Eve, December 24th, we woke up early to prepare a delicious spread, including macaroni and other tasty dishes. In the afternoon, we headed to San Vicente to celebrate with my dad’s side of the family. There were so many fun games with prizes, and the whole place was filled with smiles and laughter. It was a blast seeing everyone so happy and enjoying the moment. Christmas Day arrived, and we had a wonderful breakfast before heading out to take some pictures around the city. In the afternoon, we visited San Juan to celebrate with my mom’s side, where they had prepared the main course: lechon. It was absolutely delicious!

         I was lucky to receive gifts from my friends and family, but honestly, as much as I appreciated the presents, having them by my side was the best part of it all. It really hit different. I truly hope Christmas always feels this happy and full of love.

My Second Quarter Ict Journey 

          The second quarter of ICT classes was a valuable learning experience. I gained a deep understanding of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), including how HTML tags are used to structure and format web content. I learned about the importance of web standards, defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and explored essential standards like HTML, CSS, XML, and XHTML. I became proficient in using various HTML tags and attributes for formatting text, creating links, embedding images, and defining page structure. I also learned how to structure a basic HTML document using tags like  <html> ,  <head> ,  <title> , and  <body> . Understanding hyperlinks, including how to create links to other web pages, email addresses, and images, was another key takeaway.

          While I found the learning process rewarding, I encountered challenges, particularly with understanding complex HTML tags and attributes, debugging code errors, and applying my knowledge to practical projects. To address these challenges, I relied on online resources like W3Schools and MDN Web Docs, practiced writing HTML code extensively, and sought guidance from instructors and peers.

          Moving forward, I will continue to practice writing HTML code to further improve my skills. I will also explore CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)  to enhance the visual appearance and interactivity of my web pages. Finally, I will apply my HTML knowledge to build real-world projects, such as personal websites or simple web applications, to gain practical experience.

  Philippine Laws Against Violence

         

The Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004, or Republic Act No. 9262, is a key law in the Philippines designed to combat various forms of abuse against women and children, including physical, sexual, psychological, and economic violence. It provides victims with legal protection through measures such as protection orders, shelters, legal help, and counseling services.

          Every year, from November 25 to December 12, the country observes the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women. This campaign emphasizes the importance of R.A. No. 9262, along with other laws that address violence against women and children. It raises awareness, encourages public education, and promotes actions to prevent such violence. The campaign also highlights progress made and urges continued efforts from all sectors of society to eliminate violence.

          Two laws related to violence against women stand out: the Anti-Rape Law of 1997 (R.A. 8353) and the Safe Spaces Act of 2019 (R.A. 11313).

RA 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997)

    This law redefines rape as a crime against a person’s dignity, not just a crime against chastity. It acknowledges the deep emotional and psychological harm rape causes. It also introduced the concept of marital rape, ensuring that women are protected from abuse within marriage as well.

          The law outlines procedures for prosecuting rape cases and includes stricter penalties for offenders. It also requires the establishment of crisis centers to support victims with medical, psychological, and legal assistance.

RA 11313 (Safe Spaces Act) in 2019

          Commonly known as the "Bawal Bastos Law," this law targets gender-based harassment in public and private spaces, including workplaces, schools, and online environments. It expands the legal protections for victims and holds offenders accountable for harassment regardless of the setting.

          The law defines specific types of gender-based harassment and sets penalties for offenders. It requires public and private institutions to adopt policies, raise awareness, and create systems for reporting and addressing complaints. It also encourages bystanders to step in and help prevent harassment.

          These laws, together with R.A. No. 9262, are essential in protecting women and children from violence. They form a strong legal foundation for supporting victims and ensuring justice, contributing to the broader goal of creating a society that is safe and free from violence and discrimination.

Rising Above: How Filipinos Face the Impact of Climate Change

 Insight on Climate Change and the Resiliency of Filipinos

          Residents of the Philippines are feeling the burden of environmental changes brought on primarily by human activity, making the effects of climate change more apparent there. Deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels are two examples of activities that have warmed the earth and increased both the severity and frequency of extreme weather events. Storms have long been common in the Philippines, which is located in the Pacific typhoon belt, but they are becoming more frequent due to climate change. Communities, particularly those in rural or coastal areas, are suffering from the increasing severity of typhoons, floods, and sea level rise. In addition to upsetting daily routines, these changes endanger people's homes, livelihoods, and health.

          The effects of increasing sea levels on coastal towns are among the most urgent issues. Millions of Filipinos reside in these regions, and the effects are already catastrophic. Important freshwater supplies are being contaminated by saltwater, and many residences are now in danger of flooding or total submersion. Unpredictable weather patterns are also hurting agriculture, which is the foundation of many rural communities, resulting in crop failure and food shortages. Many families are becoming even more vulnerable as a result of these environmental changes in a nation where poverty is already a significant problem.

          Despite these challenges, the resilience of Filipinos remains strong. Throughout history, Filipinos have shown an incredible ability to rebuild and recover after natural disasters. Communities often come together through bayanihan, a tradition of mutual help and cooperation, to assist each other in times of need. Additionally, many Filipinos are finding ways to adapt to the changing environment. Some coastal communities are elevating their homes to prevent flooding, while others are turning to more sustainable farming techniques to deal with the changing climate. On a national level, the government has also enacted policies like the Climate Change Act, aiming to reduce the country's vulnerability and improve disaster preparedness, while these actions show great strength, it is clear that more needs to be done. As the effects of climate change continue to intensify, long-term solutions—such as better infrastructure, more reliable early warning systems, and greater investment in climate adaptation—are crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of Filipinos. The resilience of the Filipino people is undeniable, but in the face of these growing challenges, proactive measures are needed to secure a safer, more sustainable future for everyone.

        The observance of National Indigenous Peoples Month 2024, along with the 27th Year Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) Commemoration, plays an important role in promoting and protecting the rights and culture of Indigenous Peoples. One of the main ways it does this is by raising awareness about their unique culture, traditions, and languages. This creates an environment where Indigenous cultures are celebrated and respected.

   Elpidio Quirino

His early life, Career and Achievements.

        Elpidio Quirino, the sixth President of the Philippines, had an inspiring journey marked by hard work and perseverance. Born on November 16, 1890, in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, he came from a humble background. Despite financial struggles, Quirino was determined to succeed. He worked hard in school, graduated from the University of the Philippines, and became a lawyer, proving that with dedication, one can overcome life's toughest challenges.

         

          Quirino's path in public service started when he became a congressman for his province. He then served as a senator, vice president, and ultimately became president in 1948 after the sudden death of President Manuel Roxas. He took on the presidency at a critical time, when the country was recovering from the devastation of World War II. Like a builder fixing a broken house, he focused on rebuilding the economy, creating jobs, and supporting people who had been affected by the war.

          As president, Quirino worked hard to improve the lives of Filipinos. He introduced housing projects for the homeless, helped farmers, and supported workers. He also made sure that the Philippines became an active member of key international organizations, such as the United Nations. Quirino believed that despite the challenges, the Philippines had the potential to be a strong and respected nation on the world stage.

 

        Elpidio Quirino’s leadership reminds us that no matter how difficult the times, there is always hope. His efforts to rebuild the country were like planting seeds for the future. Today, we remember him as a symbol of resilience and unity, showing us that with hard work and determination, a brighter future is always possible.

          The celebration of National Children's Month in 2024 serves as a potent reminder of our collective obligation to safeguard children. This observance, which has as its theme "Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines," urges everyone to do something to combat the nation's rising child abuse issue. It draws attention to how pervasive these problems are, not only in the family but also in communities, educational institutions, and even online. This subject is an obvious call to action for all of us to work together to ensure that kids may grow up in a caring and secure environment.

          The event this year unites a number of organizations and groups, including the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), to concentrate on child protection. To make sure that child protection laws are followed and that kids know where to go for assistance if they are in danger, these organizations are collaborating with local communities and non-governmental organizations. One example of the proactive measures being taken to bolster the nation's child protection efforts is the collaboration between DSWD and UNICEF, which focuses on enhancing social worker training.

          

Beyond the work of these groups, raising awareness and educating people are important aspects of this year's event. What Can We Do in Reality?

          Individual acts are crucial for creating a safer environment for children, even when governmental institutions are needed. Educating others about child abuse warning signs and providing support to victims is essential. Children should be aware of their rights and seek help from trusted adults or local resources. As a society, reporting suspicious activities is crucial for preventing abuse. Aiding child protection efforts through information exchange, donations, or volunteer work can also contribute to a safe environment. By working together and remaining vigilant, we can end violence and ensure every child in the Philippines grows up in a secure, caring environment.

Our Home, Our Responsibility: Clean-Up Month Inspiration

           September is dedicated to environmental awareness and action. It is time to think on our relationship with the world and take action to protect and preserve it. National Clean Up Month, which runs throughout September, urges us to clean up our neighborhoods and create a cleaner environment. This month also includes World Clean and Green Week, which runs from September 17th to September 23rd and focuses on the necessity of living sustainably and promoting a greener future. This blog shows some of the ways to help the environment

           Clean as you go, the picture above shows a person sweeping the floor after doing a activity which made a lot of mess, if those mess was just ignored it may scatter anywhere, and it  may cause bigger problems like clogged canals and more.

           Unplugging devices or equipment if not being used. Many electronic gadgets continue to consume energy even when turned off, unplugging these devices when not in use greatly reduces energy consumption, resulting in an improved environment and lower energy costs. 

           Sorting paper, plastic, and glass bottles allows us to recycle them appropriately, this keeps them out of landfills and allows us to create new products from them, which is excellent for the environment! It also makes it easier for recycling centers to accomplish their jobs, resulting in more material being recycled. 

           Turning off lights when you leave a room may appear simple, but it greatly cuts consumption of energy, resulting in reduced expenses and a lesser carbon footprint, this small act helps preserve the environment and creates a better tomorrow.

My First Quarter Experience in 10 ICT Class

          This academic year's first quarter is coming to an end. I should be glad, the first quarter is coming to a conclusion; it feels like an escape, right? It feels like yesterday that I had to struggle to set up my blog account. A lot of things happened, but I'm grateful I survived all of them. This quarter taught me new concepts and skills, and I have previously discovered many interesting subjects in the field of information and communication technology. I met several notable persons who contributed significantly to the discovery and development of the internet. I also learned how to set up a blog account and publish a blog.

          This quarter has been difficult and demanding, however  I am grateful that I managed. One of the most difficult obstacles I faced was learning all of the dates and timelines of the internet. I have difficulties remembering the names and contributions of the internet pioneers.

           For me to address these challenges, I made flashcards,  and even utilized various applications, trying a lot of study methods to help me in  remembering the people and their contributions.

          From now on, I'll construct a timetable and a list of which topics I'm struggling with the most so that I can concentrate on comprehending the topic or lesson. And I plan to continue sharpening  my talents and learning more about ICT.

Highway: The Road for “Self Discovery to Success”

       You always receive some statements, or words from others who would like to describe you, but did you ever thought of describing yourself? Writing this blog made me realized that in this way, I can be fully aware of who I am, what I can do/ what I am capable of doing, what type of person I am, and so on. So, I hope this blog can be an example or a sign for you to start Knowing who you are to the fullest. Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Khimberly Chloe Rabino, I know it’s not the typical Filipino name like Maria Isabella Delos Reyes, most likely that my first two names are describe as a western first name. I am 14 years old, who lives in a simple city called Vigan that is located here in the Philippines province of Ilocos sur. I am the eldest child and an older sister. Meaning, I am also called as the second parent. I am a STE sophomore in Highschool, well mostly in this stage you still have the thoughts of having fun and all. With these basic facts about we are one step closer in describing myself.

        Imagine a child who is trap in a body of a teenager, a child filled with excitement, joy curiosity, etc. Well to be honest, I am just as similar. First of all, I had mentioned me being a older sister, so I can say that I can be protective, strict towards my younger brother. Being an STE student is a whole type of work. In short, I needed to be vey hardworking for me to be on track, and to pass. I can also say that I am cooperative when it comes to group activities. I am certain that I am a good friend, I am the type of friend who supports you, defend you, and I also cares about you. I am a man of my word. I am also approachable; I don’t have any problem of someone coming up to me. I am also helpful, if you need help, I am here for you as long as I can do it. So far, the “things” that describes me are somewhat positive. Well, I forgot to put one more; I can be really emotional in some situations. I bet we are all familiar with the introvert and extrovert stuff but if they ask me which one am I, I may not answer that, it is because I can be either of them like being in the introverted side when it comes to going to some crowded places without someone who’s close to me, and I can be extrovert if I am with a close person or if I am comfortable.

        For some reason, I plan my future quite often, and most of it are about college, career, what I want to do in the future, and so on. For career I actually wanted to work within the medical field or dental, because I can see that my mom is actually wanting me to be a dentist but it is still up to me, I’m not actually going outside the box, but let’s see. For college, I’m actually planning in enrolling as a scholarship student because I’m not that rich to like afford such tuition fees or like pay school debt in the future. I really want to try enrolling in the GKS program which is Government Korean Scholarship because I really want to study in Korea, the university that I really want is Yonsei University or Seoul National University if God permits, but if I won’t get into any Korean university (though I hope I would) I have the option to study in manila or maybe Baguio. In the future, when I’m like old enough to actually earn/to make my own money, I would love to travel with my family. Travelling is actually in the top of my bucket list, if ill get the chance to travel, I would surely choose to travel in South Korea first. One of my dream countries to go to, I would love to know more about their culture, tradition, and so on. Going to Concerts is actually in my bucket list too, especially going to Enhypen Concert, meeting them in person would be a dream come true. Lastly, I would love to help my Parents/ Family financially, for them to live a comfortable life, that’s why I’m working hard to go to a good university and then graduate then make money to help my parents and myself. There are more things that I want to do, but first I want to focus in the present especially my studies, cause its like what they said education is the key to be successful in life. For me to continue making a road until I reach the success.

Recognizing the Important Efforts of Teachers

 Teachers are extremely important to the development of the country because they shape the brains of future generations. Teachers all over the world committed to providing a loving atmosphere, encouraging study, and creating a love of learning in their students. Their loyalty and hard work serve as the basis of a strong educational system. 

   In addition to teaching, teachers act as mentors, role models, and advisors. They provide students with the motivation to pursue excellence, boost their self-esteem, and learn vital life skills. Their impact is felt outside of the classroom as they form the opinions, goals, and values of the students. A sincere "thank you" is a worthy acknowledgment of their unceasing efforts to create a favorable Remembering Teachers' Day 

   Teachers' Day, on September 5, is an important occasion for celebrating teachers, even if Teacher Appreciation Week in May is a great way to honor their accomplishments. This day recognizes the commitment and sacrifices made by educators, as well as their part in influencing the future of the country. It acts as a reminder to show thanks and admiration for the outstanding educators who have a positive impact on  the lives of their students.

   In summary, teachers are the hidden heroes of education, and they should be recognized for everything that they have done. We recognize the vital part they play in influencing the future of the country by rewarding their efforts, loyalty, and influence. Together, let's commemorate Teachers' Day and show our appreciation to these amazing people who encourage, inspire, and educate coming generations.

 Whisper of hope; The Filipino Spirit in the Wake of Disaster 

   The Philippines is a beautiful place with lots of islands. But it's also a place where nature can be really tough.  Sometimes, strong storms called typhoons hit the islands, causing damage to homes and making it hard for people to make a living.  The ground can also shake really hard during earthquakes, and volcanoes sometimes erupt, reminding us of the power of the earth.  These things, along with a changing climate, make life difficult for many Filipinos. They often have to rebuild their lives after disasters, and it's hard because they don't have enough money, good roads and buildings, or enough help to get ready for these events.

   Even though things are tough, the people in the Philippines are strong and hopeful. They don't give up easily! The government is trying to help by making things stronger, like roads and buildings, and by getting better at warning people about storms and earthquakes. They are also asking people to get ready for these things.

There are also groups that help people when things are bad, like giving them food and shelter, helping them rebuild their homes, and bringing people together.  They try to make sure people feel supported during hard times.

   But things are still hard. There's not enough money to do everything that needs to be done, and it's not always easy for the government to help everyone. The weather is also getting more extreme, which makes it even harder to deal with these problems.  It's a long road to making the Philippines safe from all these challenges. The Philippines is a country with strong people who don't give up easily. To make the Philippines safer and better, everyone needs to work together. We need to build strong roads, bridges, and houses that can stand up to storms and earthquakes. 

   We also need to take care of the environment by planting trees and keeping the air and water clean. Most importantly, we need to help people learn how to stay safe during disasters and give them things they need to help themselves.

Letter For The President of The Philippines

 Dear President Marcos Jr.,

   Good day Mr. president! I'm writing to you because I wanted to say thank you for trying to make our in a better state. Also about the Matatag curriculum I get that you want us to be ready for the future, but I think it's moving too fast. We haven't really talked about it with our teachers and the people who help us learn. It feels like some subjects are getting more attention than others, and I'm not sure if that's really the best way to learn everything we need to know. Also, our teachers don't have enough stuff to help them teach the new curriculum, and they haven't had much training either.

   Aside from school, things in the Philippines are kind of hard right now. Everything is getting more expensive, and a lot of people are having trouble finding jobs. It's also hard to see how much money the government has, and there's a lot of corruption. I know it's not easy to be president, but I wish you would talk more about these problems and do something about them. It feels like you're just saying things instead of actually making things better.

   I hope you can listen to us students and make things better for everyone. We need a leader who's honest, cares about us, and actually works to fix the problems in our country.
